Recipe For Natural Deodorant-Perfect For The Summer

I’ve been utterly obsessed with CocoLavish’s deodorants. I found her through Instagram, and then I purchased her products on Etsy. But, I had a strong itch to make my own deodorant. For a long time now, I’ve noticed a lot of green beauty bloggers experimenting with DIY beauty products. Truth be told, I more of a shopper than actually making something, but I thought I would try something new. It is summer, which means time for prosecco, rosé, and of course lots of deodorant. I have used the DIY natural deodorant twice now, and I’m obsessed. Now before you ask, I did wear it to the gym, and it is super hot here in California. Need I say more?

It’s no “Secret” natural deodorant is better for your body

I don’t want to get too much into the technical stuff, but read this article about the chemicals that are in drugstore deodorants. I have been using natural deodorant for over seven months, and I’m so glad I made the switch. I’ve tried so many brands of natural deodorant that I like to stick to the Meow Meow baking soda free, and CocoLavish deodorant. I would recommend you testing products to see if your skin is sensitive like mine.

Why I used Arrowroot powder

Last year I started my cruelty free journey, and it was one of the most difficult times. The deodorants that I used gave me rashes, and then I just started using drugstore Dove deodorant again, because I didn’t want to smell and I didn’t want a rash. I found out about green beauty towards November/December 2016. After some research I read an article that said that a lot of natural deodorants/cruelty free deodorants have baking soda which gives people rashes. I first used Meow Meow Deodorant (Baking Soda Free) and I loved it. Then I got into using the CocoLavish deodorant with arrowroot powder. It was life changing. I started searching for recipes with arrowroot powder, and that’s how the idea came about to make my own deodorant.

I encourage you to make your own deodorant. If you also have sensitive skin, use arrowroot powder instead of baking soda. Also to find out more information about green beauty follow me on Facebook, and Instagram. Besos!
